From da GM: Start your weekend early and join the Thirstday Hash House Harriers for their regularly scheduled run. An enjoyable hashing experience is guaranteed, as Thirstday is known for their pursuit of "Urban Shiggy" an discovering great destinations just off of the beaten path, and you'll have two veteran hares in Snatchsquatch and Taste the Rainbow taking you through the historic Hyde Park. Participants are suggested to catch up on their Chicago history by reading Devil In The White City, as that'll help familiarize you with the mythology of the neighborhood.

From Lincoln Park/Lakeview: Hop on the Red Line and head into the Loop. Exit at Jackson and head upstairs. Transfer onto the 6 Jackson Park Express. Ride that sucker down to 55th St. Hop off the bus and head East a block and a half over to The Cove. Bar is on the North side of the street.
From Wicker Park/Bucktown: Hop on the Blue Line and head into the Loop. Exit at Jackson and head upstairs. Walk a block East to State St and transfer onto the 6 Jackson Park Express. Ride that sucker down to 55th St. Hop off the bus and head East a block and a half over to The Cove. Bar is on the North side of the street.
Via Metra Train: Take the Metra Electric District Line to 56th St. Head East along 56th St to Hyde Park Blvd. Walk a block North along Hyde Park Blvd to 55th St. Go another block and a half East on 55th to The Cove. Bar is on the North side of the street.

Driving
Hop in your hooptie and cruise to 55th and Hyde Park Blvd. Marvel at how there's actually less parking that you expected on the South Side.

Venue: Green Eye Lounge - 2403 W. Homer

Hash Cash: Pay As You Go

From da GM: Lifa & O'Shitty Runch will be your hares for this romp through the historic Logan Square neighborhood (and current "it" neighborhood for Chicago's hipster population) - for the walkers of the group this will be a traditional Pub Crawl, but for those who wants to witness the Winter Wonderland that is Chicago, Lifa & O'Shitty Runch are assured to provide a trail with multiple beer stops (not just at the bars). Participants are expected to pay as you go, but we are working with local bars to get the best drink specials possible for all of you. We'll be starting the whole thing off at Green Eye Lounge (2403 W. Homer St), which is right underneath the Western Blue Line stop, so it is especially easy to get to.

Environmentally-Friendly Public Transit
From Lincoln Park/Lakeview: Hop on the 73 Armitage Bus and ride that sucker over to Western. Bar is located at the corner of Milwaukee and Homer, right next to the El tracks on the West side of Western.
From Wicker Park/Bucktown: Walk your lazy ass over to Homer and Milwaukee. Or if you're super lazy you can take the Blue Line towards O'Hare for one freaking stop and get off at Western.

Driving
Don't drive to a pub crawl, you're just asking for a DWI. If you must drive, hop in your hooptie and cruise to Homer and Western. There's probably more parking to the West of Western, but don't hold me to that.

Venue: LaBagh Woods - Cicero & Berwyn

Hash Cash: $5

From da GM: Think Chicago is just streets, alleys, and city parks? Think again! The Cook County Forest Preserves offer an excellent opportunity for shiggy and most are within reach of Chicago's excellent public transit system. Horn E will be your hare for this trail, and the super-cheap $5 hash cash will get you a unique perspective on hashing in Chicago. Transportation to Anthrax's main event will be provided for all of those who wish to run both trails.

Environmentally-Friendly Public Transit
From Lincoln Park/Lakeview: Hop on the Red Line and head towards Howard. Exit at Berwyn and hop on the 92 Foster Bus. Ride that sucker West until you get to Cicero Ave. Head North a block or so and you'll see the entrance to the woods to the East. Cross over the expressway and then go to the North parking lot.
From Wicker Park/Bucktown: Hop on the Blue Line heading towards O'Hare. Exit at Jefferson Park and hop on the 92 Foster Bus. From da GM: This year the Chicago Hash House Harriers are pulling out all of the stops in order to provide you with a truly memorable hashing experience in celebration of the Tenth Annual Great Chicago Anthrax Scare & Santa Hat Run. Working in conjunction with Thirstday H3, Bushman H3, and Second City H3, the Chicago Hash House Harriers are proud to present four days, six trails, and one great city.

This is it, the main event.

Join us in donning Santa hats as we run around the Lincoln Park and Old Town neighborhoods of Chicago. We'll have trails for both runners and walkers as veteran Chicago hare R Tard E is joined by Licker Leash and WJew40 for what will certainly be a especially shitty trail (rumor has it that they've been planning this trail for months, so you wankers better try extra hard to spoil it for them).

Your rego gets you an event tag, an event bag, a private party at Burton's Place in a private room, and an epic circle. Rego early to save yourself some cash and ensure that you'll get the giveaways.

As an added bonus, we'll have Anthrax hoodies for sale for the low price of $20 (image at right). These are not included in your rego, as we decided to give away bags but then found out there was a huge demand for another, more traditional, give away. There may be other shirts, and the new patches and keychains may be in by then as well, so bring your wallets and stock up on Haberdashery - they make great stocking stuffers for your Hash Mistress.

Don't kid yourself, you're not driving to this disaster because you know there's no way you'd be able to drive home. Also, you can't leave your car in this neighborhood without getting a ticket, so don't even think about it.

Halsted) we have a group of super-secret hares planning a trail that is sure to wake you up, work off your hangover, and make you thirsty for more booze. Trail is probably going to be especially shitty and circle will probably be especially long, so bring all of your favorite songs. I'd tell you more, but then I'd have to kill you.

Exit the bus at Wilson and head East. At Hamlin head North a block before turning East on Eastwood. Casa de Dicken's should be on the South side of the street right before you get to the park.

Hop in your hooptie and cruise to Eastwood and Hamlin. I'm not sure what the parking is like up in this neighborhood, so you're on you own there.

From da GM: It's Halloween, bitches! Dust off those costumes one more time and join the Chicago Hash for our annual Halloween Hash. We'll have a shitty trail, some prizes for those in costume, and other surprises for those in attendance.

Driving
Hop in your hooptie and cruise to Lincoln and Winnemac, parking shouldn't be too hard, but don't park in the lot next to the bar, as you will get towed.

Venue: Approximately at Mile Marker 23 - Corner of 33rd & LaSalle St

From da GM: Once again, Chicago hashers will be gathering near Mile Marker 23 (the corner of 33rd and LaSalle) to hand out beer to those crazy enough to run the Chicago Marathon. Since this is a volunteering opportunity, we're asking everyone to bring booze and dixie cups so that we can better hand out beer to the runners. If you are coming, it is also important to remember that thanks to Chicago's archaic laws, you cannot buy beer on Sunday until 11AM, so plan ahead and buy a case on Saturday.

If you forget to get booze beforehand, don't worry - you're still welcome to come and assist and hang out. The more the merrier. Signs are also strongly encouraged to show support for your fellow racist hashers. It is also strongly encouraged that you bring your hashing clothes, since a large number of us will be hopping on the Red Line and heading right to the hash. If you have any problems finding where we'll be, just look for the following intersection, as made famous by the movie Source Code.

The Great Chicago Anthrax Scare & Santa Hat Run

Because once every so often a hare does something so stupid that the entirety of Lincoln Park gets shut down.

This year the Chicago Hash House Harriers are pulling out all of the stops in order to provide you with a truly memorable hashing experience in celebration of the Tenth Annual Great Chicago Anthrax Scare & Santa Hat Run. Working in conjunction with Thirstday H3, Bushman H3, and Second City H3, the Chicago Hash House Harriers are proud to present four days, six trails, and one great city.

Coming in from out of town? Not to worry. There are plenty of options for getting to and from Chicago. You can always fly in O'Hare (ORD) or Midway (MDW), take the Amtrack in to Union Station, take the Mega Bus, or you could even carpool up with your closest hash friends.

Need crash space? Don't worry about that either - shoot the Chicago H3 a message either in the comments, in our Yahoo! Group, on our Facebook page, via e-mail, or over our twitter, and we'll do our best to set you up with a welcoming hasher. If you don't want to stay with hasher, that's cool too - the Chicago H3 suggests finding a room at the Days Inn Lincoln Park or at the Chicago Getaway Hostel, but be advised that no group rate has been procured from these institutions.
