From da GM: Lifa & O'Shitty Runch will be your hares for this romp through the historic Logan Square neighborhood (and current "it" neighborhood for Chicago's hipster population) - for the walkers of the group this will be a traditional Pub Crawl, but for those who wants to witness the Winter Wonderland that is Chicago, Lifa & O'Shitty Runch are assured to provide a trail with multiple beer stops (not just at the bars). Participants are expected to pay as you go, but we are working with local bars to get the best drink specials possible for all of you. We'll be starting the whole thing off at Green Eye Lounge (2403 W. Homer St), which is right underneath the Western Blue Line stop, so it is especially easy to get to.

From Lincoln Park/Lakeview: Hop on the 73 Armitage Bus and ride that sucker over to Western. Bar is located at the corner of Milwaukee and Homer, right next to the El tracks on the West side of Western.
From Wicker Park/Bucktown: Walk your lazy ass over to Homer and Milwaukee. Or if you're super lazy you can take the Blue Line towards O'Hare for one freaking stop and get off at Western.

Driving
Don't drive to a pub crawl, you're just asking for a DWI. If you must drive, hop in your hooptie and cruise to Homer and Western. There's probably more parking to the West of Western, but don't hold me to that.

Venue: Approximately at Mile Marker 23 - Corner of 33rd & LaSalle St

From da GM: Once again, Chicago hashers will be gathering near Mile Marker 23 (the corner of 33rd and LaSalle) to hand out beer to those crazy enough to run the Chicago Marathon. Since this is a volunteering opportunity, we're asking everyone to bring booze and dixie cups so that we can better hand out beer to the runners. If you are coming, it is also important to remember that thanks to Chicago's archaic laws, you cannot buy beer on Sunday until 11AM, so plan ahead and buy a case on Saturday.

If you forget to get booze beforehand, don't worry - you're still welcome to come and assist and hang out. The more the merrier. Signs are also strongly encouraged to show support for your fellow racist hashers. It is also strongly encouraged that you bring your hashing clothes, since a large number of us will be hopping on the Red Line and heading right to the hash. If you have any problems finding where we'll be, just look for the following intersection, as made famous by the movie Source Code.

The Great Chicago Anthrax Scare & Santa Hat Run

Because once every so often a hare does something so stupid that the entirety of Lincoln Park gets shut down.

This year the Chicago Hash House Harriers are pulling out all of the stops in order to provide you with a truly memorable hashing experience in celebration of the Tenth Annual Great Chicago Anthrax Scare & Santa Hat Run. Working in conjunction with Thirstday H3, Bushman H3, and Second City H3, the Chicago Hash House Harriers are proud to present four days, six trails, and one great city.

Coming in from out of town? Not to worry. There are plenty of options for getting to and from Chicago. You can always fly in O'Hare (ORD) or Midway (MDW), take the Amtrack in to Union Station, take the Mega Bus, or you could even carpool up with your closest hash friends.

Need crash space? Don't worry about that either - shoot the Chicago H3 a message either in the comments, in our Yahoo! Group, on our Facebook page, via e-mail, or over our twitter, and we'll do our best to set you up with a welcoming hasher. If you don't want to stay with hasher, that's cool too - the Chicago H3 suggests finding a room at the Days Inn Lincoln Park or at the Chicago Getaway Hostel, but be advised that no group rate has been procured from these institutions.

Saturday, August 20th

We had a chili/Sox party in April (was it ever COLD that day….), usually it is only a chili party but with the Sox playing a late afternoon game became both a chili and Sox party!  Now it is time for a pure Sox game party.  We cook up Chicago style hot dogs and have lots of beer before (and after) the game.  A single dog and one brew cost 12-13 bucks at The Cell - - - you are getting the deal of a lifetime!!

Sox Game: 6:10 pm start against Texas.  The hot dogs and beer will be ready to go at my place around 4:30 in the afternoon.  We usually stroll over to be there around the end of the 1st inning.  And it is a fireworks night.  From the upper deck they are spectacular.

I need a check for $30 by Thursday 8/18 to get the cheap seats and to help with the hot dogs and beer before and after the game.  I will pick up the tickets on Friday, 8/19.  Meet at my place (3520 S Wallace) and we will walk to the game. 
I have parking passes to park on the street during the game if you want to drive.  Email me if you will need a parking pass so that I can be sure to have enough on hand.  They DO ticket if you do not have one.

Saturday, July 9th - Main Event (Rego includes T-Shirt, beer, food) - Sully's (1501 N. Dayton). Starting off at 3pm  (on out at 3:30), the trail will have lots of great urban shiggy, multiple beer stops and themed games and challenges. The on-in will feature a summer BBQ buffet, multiple kegs of beer, and all the fun and shenangian's you'd expect.  Registration before June 23rd also gets you a tech t-shirt.

All are encouraged to bring their creations to challenge the Infamous Mudsucker Texas Chili.  Mud has all the fixin’s for both Texas chili and a milder (relatively) Yankee chili.  Can we talk Peterbilt into bringing his famous brisket?  Too Soft to bring his camera!  If someone makes a veggie chili, I am sure that it will be appreciated. 

Mud will get beer.  Will ask for a few bucks to cover costs if you can’t bring something, but it is voluntary.  No sleepovers except sexy women with no common sense nor morals to sleep with Mudsucker!  I would appreciate an Email if you are coming - not mandatory, but helps to plan the amount of beer needed – isn’t one keg per six hashers the guideline???

There will be a DJ and plenty of drunk dancing by the end of the night. Anyone caught taking pictures of It's Too Soft dancing or smooching will join Jimmy Hoffa under the North end zone of Giants Stadium.

This is what happens when you mix too much beer, too much food and too much good times with the Chicago Hash House Harriers. BTW - Chicken Stiffer was re-enlisted for yet another tour of duty as GM!

I was very happy to see all of you make it to hash ball this year at Jania’s, if you missed it you missed one hell of a time. I would first like to thank ROTTEN WHORE and MOUNT SCHWIIINGA who helped to plan or set-up this event. ODOR EATER as always played the part of our awesome DJ. I would like to say one of my first moves, as the CH3 GM is that I am firing MILK MY YAK from haberdashery. I am relieving him of his duty because he is lazy good for nothing hasher that has not been doing his job by bringing and selling haberdashery to the CH3 hash.

On the flip side MILK MY YAK has been hired as the CH3 Brew master. Those of you present for hash ball witnessed LIFA jumping over the bar to get the last drop of IPA from the keg of beer that MILK made. I have never seen LIFA react this way to beer unless it was good beer like Sam Adams so this beer must have been something and my hangover proves it. I would like to also thank CALVIN for announcing the winners of the hash

awards.

Many thanks go to BATTERIES for taking the time to careful count well over 55 ballots from hashers. Word on the street is BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED is now cross-eyed.

The best costume would have to go to NP for his Oprah impression or EZ ON THE ASS for his Tamales impersonation. WRAPPER SNATCHER and JUST STEPH played the part of two sexy playboy bunnies with JUST I LEAN their pimp Hugh Hefner. VIRTUALLY HUNG was a representative of the fine German ethnic group with his lederhosen on.

Everyone looked great and was ready to have a good time. I had to laugh though because so many people thought there was not enough food or beer. Well I still have left over food if anyone wants it and the MGD keg was left over for the next days hash. We basically had 45 gallons of beer for 45 hashers or one gallon per hasher and at least 7 bottles of wine.

MAGNETIC MUFF brought her good friend HOT LIPS in from Grand Rapids to have some fun with us tonight and I think they did. JUST NETTIE and JUST ANGELLE looked like images from the White city worlds fair and later in the evening we were invaded by SHIGGY PIGGY who gave away all of her haberdashery maybe I got some and maybe I didn’t I just do not remember.

The party broke up around midnight for me but rumors abound that the party lasted until morning for some. Next time I need to remember that MILKS beer is at least double the alcohol content of regular beer, and thanks for electing me CH3- GM for another year.
